What bit me? Flea or bed bug?! #565665

Hey I woke up one morning to find mildly itchy bug bits on my ankles. They were in groups of three with the exception of another on my Achilles heel and another on the back of my knee by the crease. They’re mildly itchy and seem like flee bites due to the dark red halo it had around the center bite. I figured at first bed bugs they’re my worst nightmare but after tearing the room and bed apart I found 0 evidence of bed bugs. (Tiny crevices in my wood furniture, under sheets and memory foam mattress pads, and searching for brownish copper stains to find none.) please help because if it’s fleas I’m going to be highly upset at the dog that caused it (jk it’s not her fault)

Unfortunately, it's not generally possible to identify bites without seeing the insect or arthropod that caused them. Fleas and bedbugs are both possible, as are outdoor pests such as mosquitoes or chiggers.
