Another good resource is our lawn maintenance calendar: https://extension.umd.edu/sites/extension.umd.edu/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG112_Tur...
We recommend that you test your soil at least every three years to find out the pH, nutrient levels, and organic matter content. This will help you determine if any soil amendments are necessary. You can learn all about soil testing here: https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/soils/soil-testing
For tree care, start by reading through our information on tree selection, planting, and care: https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/trees-and-shrubs/selection-purchasing-planting-and-care
If you need help identifying what trees you have on your property, you can send us photos and we can identify them for you. You can also get help from your county's Master Gardener Program. Bring samples of your plants to your local Master Gardener Plant Clinic for help with plant identification and any specific questions you have about plant care: https://extension.umd.edu/mg
