Wet land plants/ shrubs #403111

Asked May 29, 2017, 2:00 PM EDT

Hello, My back yard is considered a "wet land." The very end of the yard gets extremely wet to where it won't dry up for days after a rain. In the spring is almost always damp or wet. We recently raised a portion of it and want to put plants in to try to soak up as much water as possible. The soil in this spot has a lot of clay so we brought in some good topsoil and manure, we we are hoping to be able to grow things. It gets part shade/ shade. I am looking for a list of ground cove, shrubs, and flowering plants that will survive. I have a large area to cover. Can you help me with this?

It is possible you may want to consider a Rain Garden for this area. Take a look at our Rain Garden publication for planting information, plant selection, and tips.
