Corn: sow after frost or transplant after frost? #385949

Asked February 21, 2017, 11:08 AM EST

should you sow indoors or outdoors generally?

Jefferson County Colorado

Expert Response

Corn is a warm season grass that should be directly sown in the ground after the soil has reached roughly 60 degrees; Usually around June 1st. Some people buy transplants but there is no need to do so; when the soil is warm and well-watered corn jumps out of the ground after planting.
