There is no housing difference in the amount of manure or urine produced by pigs. All pigs excrete about the same amount of manure and urine based on size and diet. Pigs are marketed well before they reach 400 lb so manure data relevant for 400 lb animal would be a sow. Gestation sows are fed a diet that reduces the amount of manure produced. If fed full feed corn diet the sows would become morbidly obese and crush more pigs. Manure in a swine barn has a high moisture content. For example, there is only about 40 lb of nitrogen in 1000 gallon of typical swine manure. A thousand gallons of manure will weigh about 8340 lb. That calculates to only 0.48% nitrogen. The typical nitrogen fertilizer is 82% nitrogen. That's over 170 times more nutrient dense than typical nitrogen in swine manure. The diluted nature of swine manure is costly to haul for swine producers, but is valuable to recycle to the crop as an organic nutrient. To answer your question a nursery pig (around 25 lb) will produce about .37 lb of manure and feces per day, a pig in the 50 to 125 range will produce .6 lb of urine and feces per day and a gestation sow ( around 400 lb) will produce .75 lb per day. Total volume removed from the building will be higher because of pressure washing for pig health and sanitation and feed waste; both increase volume of material, but are not manure.
Does your answer mean that a 400 gestation hog will produce .75 pounds of manure and .75 pounds of urine? A typical gallon of hog manure weighs approximately 8.34 pounds?
Because a 400 pound gestation sow is on limited calories to keep her from obesity, the manure and urine output is around .75 lb per day total, not counting wash water, water leaks or feed waste. Gallon of manure will range from 8.3 to more dense like 8.5 lb per gal. The most common estimate is 8.34 pound per gallon.
