My coneflowers are so tall but they're falling over. I want to know if I cut them back will it hurt them or will they bloom again this summer? I have a tomato cage around them but it looks horrendous and I'm trying to find a better solution..

The flowers in the picture are beautiful. However, I do not think you will see a significant bloom again if you cut the plants back. In general, cone flowers have one bloom per summer, although some newer varieties bloom for quite a long period. The traditional cone flowers and black-eyed susans tend to flop and droop about the garden. To minimize this, consider a cut flower ring that you can buy and install early in the year to support the stems. A cheaper version can be made with bamboo stakes and garden twine, too.
