Asked June 08, 2016, 8:00 AM EDT

The leaves on my age curling in half lengthwise. .. any idea why this happens. It's sister tree is doing great! 3yo. Deepsouth area. Gets a 30 minute deep watering weekly. Full sun and  hot! Thanks!

My first thought having looking at your picture is that this is a symptom of heat stress. We have had some very warm days as of late. Leaves will curl to avoid direct sunlight during high stress periods. It is very important to keep up with your irrigation program. As we progress further into summer, you may want to extend that watering period by another 15 mins. Do a simple check to see if you are watering enough. After an irrigation period physically check the soil near the tree and determine when it dries out. If it is dry in 24 hours, it is highly advisably to water for a longer period of time.

I was thinking that's what it was. I will extend watering and check the soil. Thank you for the response.
