These two plants have different forms. Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefoliais) a vine with palmate leaves comprised of five leaflets joined at a center point. Poison oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum) is a short, shrub-like plant with trifolate leaves (three leaves joined at the center point.

According to the USDA publication above, Virginia creeper berries are toxic and the sap can sometimes cause a rash, so protective clothing when working with the vine is important.
Obviously, poison oak causes allergic contact dermatitis so protectiv clothing is also important when working around it / removing it.
