Generally only older Aloe vera
plants---those that have been established for four years or longer---bloom. Only
very happy plants that receive excellent care bloom. These flowers produce
nectar that hummingbirds love. The only steps you can take to encourage your
Aloe vera plant to bloom are those that go to the heart of caring for your
plant properly during the years it takes for it to grow old enough to produce
blooms.
Some tips of care are as
below;
Bring your aloe inside at
the first hint of cold weather or frost. Aloes are extremely sensitive to cold.
2 Plant your aloe in fast-draining soil.
3 Put your Aloe vera plant in a window that
gets plenty of sunshine. Lots of light will help the aloe plant bloom when it
is mature enough to put up a stalk.
4 Do not over water your Aloe vera plant. The
soil should completely dry before you water your plant again. Only give the
plant a cup or two of water in winter months. Soak the soil during the summer,
but allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again.
5 Plant your Aloe vera in a pot that has
drainage holes, and use a wide planter. Aloe vera roots spread outwards.
6 Fertilize your Aloe vera each spring with a
diluted bloom fertilizer
