Ron was born and raised on a Dairy Farm in the Finger Lakes Region of the New York State. He has college degrees in Public Health, Environmental Health and Entomology. For the last 32 years, he has been involved in research and Extension Education at three Land Grant Universities including Purdue and the University of Minnesota.
He is currently employed as a Senior Extension Associate at Cornell University in the Pesticide Management Education Program where his primary job is the education of New York’s Private and Commercial Pesticide Applicators. He has written several training manuals for pesticide applicators including the manuals used to certify applicators in the Food Processing applicator category. He also has created and manages the PMEP Distance Learning Center an online education system for licensed applicators to earn recertification credits. Ron is one of the leaders of the eXtension Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Community of Practice.
