Daphne Richards

Hi, I’m Daphne Richards, the County Extension Agent for horticulture with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Travis County (Austin).  I received my BA in botany from the University of Texas at Austin and my MS in horticulture from Texas A&M.  Before joining the Travis County team in 2009, I served as the CEA-Hort in El Paso County for nine years.  My primary responsibilities include leading educational programming in the areas of home horticulture and urban agriculture, as well as for professionals in the green industry.  I also serve as the coordinator of the local Master Gardener program, training and managing over 200 very active Master Gardener volunteers.  I may be seen each week on PBS stations in various states (and on You Tube) in the award-winning television program “Central Texas Gardener." You can follow my Tweets and you can “like” my horticulture information on Facebook.  You might also catch me around Central Texas at various gardening events with Augie, my sweet little Dachshund puppy.  If you do, please say hi!
