Jo L.

Outreach Specialist

I am an Aquatic Ecologist and Outreach Specialist in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University. I work closely with Michigan State University Extension and Michigan Lake and Stream Associations to promote understanding and stewardship of lakes, rivers, and watersheds. My recent work focuses on volunteer monitoring of Michigan's lakes and streams, community-based approaches to watershed management, natural resources leadership development, and science communication, with an emphasis on aquatic invasive species. I have a bachelor’s degree in biology from Albion College, a master’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Notre Dame, and a doctorate in fisheries and wildlife from Michigan State University.
