Shibu Kar

Asst. Professor & Sustainable Energy Specialist

Dr. Kar is a Regional Extension Specialist and Educator with Washington State University.  Shiba (Shibu) is playing an active role in strengthening extension network and capacity, developing outreach materials and conducting research on economic decision making tools for growing poplar for bioenergy.  Shibu earned his Ph.D. in forest resources from Penn State University with an emphasis on human dimensions of forest resource use. Before joining WSU in 2012, his postdoctoral work at Penn State emphasized policy and practices of forest bioenergy. Shibu also worked with different national and international organizations focused on natural resource management and community development.
