Dr. Cheryl Boyer

Associate Professor and Extension Specialist, Nursery Crop Production and Marketing

Dr. Cheryl Boyer is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist for ornamental nursery crops at Kansas State University. Cheryl earned two degrees from Oklahoma State University--Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (2003) and Master of Science (Horticulture, 2005). In 2008 Cheryl graduated with a Ph.D. in Horticulture from Auburn University (Alabama) and excitedly moved to Manhattan, Kansas to begin serving the nursery industry in Kansas and the Great Plains. Her research in the last 5 years has focused on alternative potting materials and (new!) social media marketing for retail garden centers. Cheryl has been married to Russell for 13 years and has a 4-year-old son, Henry. She is also sometimes known as “Dr. Shrublove.” J
