I am the Horticulture Program Assistant at the University of MD Extension in Kent County (Eastern Shore), Maryland. My passion is vegetable gardening, gardening with youth and showing people where their food comes from. I love gardening in general and especially gardening with native plants.
I do not like to meddle too much with nature. When a plant gets a disease or pest, I always wonder what I could have done better to try and prevent this problem in the first place.
The hardest part of my job is to explain to people that there simply is no easy answer or solution (for instance how to deal with wire grass). I like to give people all their options so they can make an informed decision.
