Hydrangea dying?

Asked October 28, 2020, 5:36 PM EDT

I noticed last week there were some darkening leaves on my hydrandea bush that is very established. I thought perhaps it was just the change in weather. Now the leaves are all looking very unhealthy and am wondering what is attacking my plant and how to correct it. My hydrangea of the same variety on the other side of my house is also starting to turn but is still in the earlier stages. This seems to be progressing very quickly. Help!

Hydrangeas are deciduous shrubs, which means they lose their leaves in the winter. The couple of nights of below freezing temperatures we had in the last week have started the process and it sounds like one of your plants is in a colder spot than the other. Fear not - the plants are fine. Here are some great resources that will give you more hints for your plants.
