I have a large and varied shady perennial garden. It is rife with Rhizoctonia fungus. Do you have any advice on: 1) Whether I should leave the leaves on the garden as a blanket over winter or remove the leaves? 2. What sort of fungicide I should use in the spring, when I should begin to use it and how often I should use it. Thank you, Alicia Pond

Hi! Thanks for the question. Can you tell me what plants you are having issues with and how you determined it is rhizoctonia? This will also help with determining treatment options. If you have any pictures of the symptoms it would also be a huge help. Thinning out the plants, avoiding overhead irrigation, and removing dead plant parts are a good start for minimizing damage.
