Vine maple problem

Asked October 19, 2020, 1:09 AM EDT

I am attaching pictures of my Vine maple which does not color up nicely in the fall. What is wrong with it

Lack of good fall color on native vine maple, Acer circinatum, causes vary. I’ve seen a few posts on garden sites recently discussing the issue. The growing conditions and tree history may hold clues. Give more information about sun, watering, age, and fall colors in prior years. Include a photo or two of tree overall, so a pattern of damage can be seen.
Causes include this individual tree not being one to color well, (note some named cultivars on the OSU Landscape Plants page: https://landscapeplants.oregonstate.edu/plants/acer-circinatum), growing with too much or not enough sun or water, and diseases. https://ask.extension.org/questions/600563

I sent you a couple pictures, because I thought the tree was diseased or buggy. Can you tell from those pictures? And if they are, like a leaf miner, what to do about it. Thank you very much

I agree that stress is likely the issue but without more information we are not likely to figure this one out.
