Harvesting Milkweed pods

Asked October 7, 2020, 5:47 PM EDT

Today I checked my milkweed and I noticed little red nymphs working in the cracks. Should I wait until they are done to pick the pods off the plant to save and replant? Are they working to open the pod or are they eating the nectar? I know that they have something to do with the plant. At least I think...Thank you.

You probably have milkweed bug nymphs on your milkweed. Brush them off the seed pods as the milkweed seed is what they are going after.
