pesky bug
Can you tell me if this flying thing is dangerous or not? It has been flying around my patio and I've never seen anything like it. Thank you!

Thank you for your question. Yes, it is an interesting looking insect! This is a robber fly, a beneficial insect as it preys on other insects. It will attach beneficial insects as well as insects that cause problems to plants and people.
