Leaf curling is a common occurrence when rhododendrons are trying to protect themselves from drought stress or adverse temperatures. By curling, they reduce evapotranspiration and water loss from the leaves. It's possible this is a response to the recent cold night time temps we have been experiencing, or if you have not been consistently watering (1in/week).
