My neighbors and I have four 20-year-old Globe Maples (Norway) in our parking strips. The interior limbs on all four have died this summer and each tree has only a veneer of leaves on live limbs surrounding those that are dead. What went wrong? Can they be saved? Thank you!

If you can forward some pictures of these trees to my email address (below) it would greatly help in determining what the condition of the trees is. Maples can exhibit dieback for a number of reasons, but it's not clear without further evidence what the cause is. Are the trees being pruned? Are they receiving summer irrigation? Answers to those sorts of questions would be helpful too. I look forward to hearing from you.
