Nut trees for Delaware
Hi. I’m interested in planting a nut tree(s) on my property in Hockessin but I don’t want to plant a Black Walnut because of its negative impact on surrounding vegetation. What other types of productive nut trees can be grown in Delaware? Are we too far north for Pecans? Are their lesser known nut trees that are full size other than Black Walnuts that I might be overlooking? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good Morning! This Delaware resource might be helpful to you- https://delawaretrees.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Recommended-Trees.pdf . And, the Urban and Community Delaware Forest Service also provides more information on pecan here https://delawaretrees.com/bigtrees/hardwoods/.
Thanks Carrie. I’ll check those links out. Stephen
