Possible Poison Sumac

Asked September 14, 2020, 8:59 AM EDT

I have something growing in my yard that I can't identify. While working around it in the past I have gotten itchy and scratched and got sores on my legs. I am concerned that it may be Poison Sumac. I am sending four pictures. Please let me know what this is.

Hello!

From your photo, I don't think that your plant is Poison Sumac. As you can see in this link, Poison Sumac leaves are smooth on the margins.

I think that your plant looks like a member of the bramble family, either raspberry or blackberry.

I see that either of those can cause skin irritation, too.

I hope this helps you.
