How long do you cure a cushaw squash before processing or cooking it?

Cushaw- is harvested when rind hardens. Leave at least a 1-inch stem when cutting fruits from vine. Cure in a warm spot (80-85 degrees F.) for one week. A deck or porch are ok. Best to keep fruit off surface by placing on a screen or pallet to avoid bruises and cuts. Store in basement or garage (protect from mice).
