Yoshiko Cherry Tree - Leaves are Browning

Asked September 12, 2020, 2:56 PM EDT

We planted a Yoshino Cherry Tree about 1.5 years ago. The tree gre very well last season and it was doing well up until a week ago when I stepped to water it and all of a sudden half the leaves had started turning brown. We don't know what has happened and would like some advice on what we can do to save the tree. It flowered last year and this year in Spring. I have attached pictures of the tree to help describe the problem better.

The problems listed below are serious for effected plants. That said the suddenness of the issue suggests a possible environmental contribution of some sort. You could trim off the affected leaves and branches and contact the nursery where it was purchased. It is possible that the local and regional weather conditions have taken a toll. The dry lawn may also have had an influence and fresh mulch may also help, along with fertilizer and additional watering. Hope this helps! Thanks for your question.
