pink mytrle

Asked September 4, 2020, 7:00 PM EDT

My tree is sheading its bard. It is blooming and seems healthly. I am worried about it because I like the tree. Can you help me?

It is normal for crape myrtle to shed their bark. Some crape myrtle varieties seem to shed more bark and in larger pieces than others.
In any case, just rake it up and figure it is probably a sign of active growth and a healthy tree. As long as the tree is otherwise healthy, this does not sound like a problem.

However, you can send us photos of the whole tree and trunk and bark so we can see what you may be dealing with.
