Without a photo, we cannot say for certain. We suspect that this was caused by black rot, a common fungal disease on grapes: https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/grape-diseases

If you do not want to spray a fungicide, you will only get a good grape crop when conditions are ideal for no black rot--which will be rarely.

Please send a clear photo of the grapes' infected condition if you have one, and we should be able to give you a definitive diagnosis.
