On average how much hanging weight would a dairy steer weigh at two years?

Hello.

Generally, one would want to harvest a Holstein steer at 1400-1550 lbs live weight, which corresponds to about 850-945 lbs hanging weight. A grass-raised and finished steer (on decent pasture/forages) could be expected to reach this weight at 24 months or more. A Holstein steer that received a higher plane of nutrition (more grain), could be expected to reach this weight by 18-24 months.
