This is my first time growing a canary melon,I grew it from seed,There supposed to take 80 to 90 days,It has turned yellow and has been for a week to 9 days,Some say to squeeze the blossom end and there will be some give,Well sorry but my question was how can i tell when it's ripe and ready to pick. The vine only produced 2 melons,But both have some good size the big one is about the size of a football.Thank you.

The blossom end is the bottom end, opposite the stem. When it has some give, the fruit is ready. This is the characteristic you have to go with. Color and other characteristics are not reliable.
