I have an all cedar home and I have been battling this resourceful critters for years. In process of staining Is there any product that I can add to stain to prevent them from biting into wood. Any other product I can purchase to trap them? Thanks

Paint or varnish exposed surfaces regularly to reduce weathering and attack by carpenter bees. I am not familiar with a particular stain that would deter carpenter ants. You may also want to consider attaching small pieces of wire screening to the areas where they tend to nest. Insecticides are not recommended, as carpenter bees are a beneficial pollinator.
