Zebra ornamental grass

Hi I am wondering if tall zebra grass can survive in MN . I had several in my garden in IL and now live in twin cities . Thanks!

Thanks for the question.

Zebra ornamental grass is typically rated for growing zones 4 and higher. Since the Metro Area is in growing zone 4, there should be no problem. If you have not already purchased this grass, when you do so make sure it is rated for zone 4. Don’t purchase a variety that is rated for zone 5 and higher. Varieties of zebra grass that may have been suitable for Illinois may not be suited for Minnesota. See the following for further information:

Good luck with this beautiful grass.

Thanks so very much!
