Getting rid of invasive species

Asked July 21, 2020, 4:48 PM EDT

I have some lamium, dead nettle, that has invested the neighborhood. I get rid of blackberries and poison oak with a brush killer that is systemic, goes to the roots. Doesnt seem to work on the lamium. Also, there is a cotton wood in the common area that has invasive roots that have moved across the creek, up into the yard and now is on the opposite side ot the house. Have asked the HOA to get rid of the tree, to no avail. What would work on either or both of these invaders?

Best options for controlling deadnettle would be products containing 2,4-D, dicamba, or triclopyr. Triclopyr would be product of choice for cottonwood. Common trade name is Garlon 3 or Garlon 4.
