Pruning tomato and pepper plants

Should tomato and pepper plants be pruned during the growing season? If so, how best to?

I don't see anything similar for peppers. I did see this line: Suckering/pruning: Peppers require minimal pruning. Remove suckers up to the first flower cluster. A sucker is a small shoot growing between a leaf and main stem. Old leaves below the first fruit can be removed around the time you harvest the first pepper.
So, I think you're off the hook (for the most part) with pepper plants!
