pyrrosia lingua compacta

Asked July 17, 2020, 5:05 PM EDT

I have a recently acquired pyrrosia lingua compacta fern and it’s leaves have gone yellow and oddly dusty since I planted it less than a week ago. Any hints on how to make her a bit more happy? She’s planted in a very shady area, only thing I can think is too much water or maybe just too much afternoon sun? It really doesn’t get a lot of sun though.

Thank you for your question. I am having difficulty seeing the 'dust' but assume it might be powdery mildew. They are very drought tolerant, so it might be too much water. Perhaps you can contact your own county extension service for an examination and advice: Good luck!
