How long can dwarf honeygold apple trees livle?

Asked July 13, 2020, 12:32 PM EDT

We planted a dwarf honey gold apple tree about 25-27 years ago. It's thrived but this year some of the branches have seemed to die. No leaves or fruit on them. We're concerned that the tree may be failing - although there's a bumper crop of apples on it and other parts of the tree seem fine. Advice? Thanks.

An apple tree's life span depends upon its rootstock and growing conditions. The life span of dwarf and semi-dwarf trees is shorter than standard stock. The following website lists the estimated life span of apples root stocks.

At 25-27 years your dwarf Honeygold has served you well and its years are probably numbered.
