Apple tree - disease or insect?

Asked July 13, 2020, 9:00 AM EDT

Hi and thanks in advance for any advice you can share. We have an apple tree which has set fruit for the first time this year. Right now some of the leaves on the trees are turning brown and looking skeleton-y. Can you advise what is causing this - will it be a problem for the apples, and how we should take care of the tree. I am generally in organic gardener. Thank you!

Have you seen any Japanese Beetles? The leaves have that lacy look and all the brown parts that are in focus have holes in them. Japanese Beetles have been low in number this year but they have been doing damage. They won’t hurt the fruit.
