What is it!?!?

Asked July 9, 2020, 8:42 PM EDT

Good evening. I am new to the area so please forgive my ignorance. When this plant was younger and smaller I assumed it was poison ivy after developing a rash after working in the woods. However I don’t believe it is, as the leaf has a jagged edge and has now produced a red berry. I’m wondering if you can help me find out what this is and if I need to cut it back or if the berries will be edible. Thank you very much for your time.

This is wineberry, a foreign invasive plant. It will spread rapidly and we recommend that you remove it as quick as you can before it takes over and spreads to your neighbors and beyond.
