The best way to get rid of crabgrass is by using a reemergent in the spring before the seeds which have overwintered can germinate. By now, you can pull it if there isn't too much of it, or poison it with a herbicide (which will kill the good grass as well), and reseed the bare spots. However, it is not easy to keep grass seedlings alive in the heat of summer.

If you can tolerate it for the rest of the summer, the plants will die off in the fall, leaving seeds, which you can deal with in the spring.
