Leaf lesions on Tibetan cherry tree

My neighbor asked me what this was and what to do about it.

The tree appears to have the virus described here: https://extension.oregonstate.edu/sites/default/files/documents/12281/pruningtreesshrubs.pdf This is a problem which cannot be cured, and tree (or orchard) removal is recommended. But, before doing so, I suggest your neighbor send leaf samples to the OSU Plant Clinic for analysis.
