Japanese maple leaves

Asked June 24, 2020, 7:56 PM EDT

My Japanese maple’s leaves are getting thin in some places, turning brown, and then dying. Particularly near the top of the tree. Pictures are attached. Any idea what is happening and how to take care of it?

We think that this is cold damage from the late frosts in spring. The new, tender growth of many plants got nipped. The worst affected will brown out and fall.
There is nothing that you need to do.
