Is this Japanese Knotweed?

Thankfully this is not Japanese knotweed; it is common pokeweed. Pokeweed (Phytolacca americana) is a native herbaceous perennial weed that regrows each year from a large taproot. It reproduces via seeds within purple to black berries produced in the late summer/early fall and can be spread by birds and other animals. All parts of pokeweed are toxic to humans if consumed.
