Hello, do you have any recommendations for growing fennel and beets as a fall crop on the lower eastern shore of maryland?

Hi- here is an excellent article on fennel for the fall. You should grow seedlings indoors or outdoors for planting about 8 weeks prior to first expected frost in your area:
