Cinder block use for a Garden wall

Asked June 20, 2020, 6:06 PM EDT

Is there any issue with using cinder blocks for the wall of a garden? The cinder blocks would be used as the exterior barrier for the sides and front of the garden.

Hi- we understand that there are concerns about the fly ash used in making concrete blocks. We are not aware of research findings that would suggest they should not be used in and around gardens, including vegetable gardens.
