Pea Pest

Asked June 19, 2020, 1:28 PM EDT

I live in Gresham and something is eating my Peas. What could be doing it and what can I do about it? Photos attached. Thanks for any advice or info, Daryl

Thank you for your question. It appears that the pod has a hole in it, so the pest is one able to chew. The only pea pest in our diagnostic guide is this beetle: Remove any infested pods, leaves or other plant structures and destroy them. Neem oil is organic and relatively safe when used per label instructions. It does need more frequent applications than other pesticides. Just take care not to spray on insects and other pollinators. Hope this is helpful. Good luck!
