Yellowing bean leaves

Asked June 19, 2020, 6:47 AM EDT

Can you help me determine why my pole beans are yellowing? We apply chicken manure (mixed with wood chip bedding) that has composted since the previous year, and not much else. Thank you!

Thank you for your question. I think your plant is in need of nitrogen, but the spots have progressed far enough that it is difficult to tell whether they also have a bacterial infection: http://vegetablemdonline.ppath.cornell.edu/factsheets/Beans_Bacterial.htm I suggest you contact your own county Extension service for advice from staff familiar with issues in your area: http://stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu/ Good luck!
