Sago Palm Flower

I have a sago palm that’s been in my yard for many years and this is the first year I think it’s going to flower. It has a big round almost volleyball size knob ready to flower is this something I should cut off something I should leave can you give me some advice thank you

Thank you for your question. It appears you have a female palm. If there is a male nearby, it will have been pollinated, and you will have seeds to try to start other palms.
