Lawn moths in shaded areas

Asked June 18, 2020, 3:29 PM EDT

I have been fertilizing my lawn with organic fertilizer. Is there an organic product that will eliminate the lawn moths?

Hi Are you inquiring about moss in lawns or moths? If you are inquiring about moss here is some additional information on how to manage it.

Thanks

I was inquiring about lawn moths; not moss.

Are you referring to the small, creamy white insects that fly when disturb and usually in the shady areas of the lawn? If so, then these are called leafhoppers. They do not cause an significant damage to lawns so management is generally not recommended. Should you decide to manage, here is some suggested management with some organic options https://pnwhandbooks.org/insect/hort/turfgrass/turfgrass-leafhopper
