What (or who) is eating my dahlia leaves?

Asked June 16, 2020, 1:09 PM EDT

Good morning. I HAD a lovely dahlia specimen, but something is eating the leaves. The damage occurs at night and is extensive. I've thoroughly inspected the plants and find nothing! There were many blooms, but they are looking forlorn and the tips of the petals are turning brown before they fully open.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, without seeing the culprit it is harder to diagnose. Below is a link provided by University of California Agriculture & Natural Resources. It references dahlias, specifically, including all pests and diseases. Please read it and let us know if you have any additional questions.
