Quite a few plants in one bed are misshapen, many with black spots and twisted leaves

Asked June 16, 2020, 8:35 AM EDT

I noticed some misshapen leaves last week, and now there are quite a few plants, especially echinacea, but also boneset, and Russina Sage and some weeds, and the plants next to them are just fine, such as the peonies, astilbe, and perennial geranium.

All of the plants shown in the photos have been damaged by four-lined plant bugs. Fortunately these insects have or will soon have finished their life cycle for this year so little or no additional damage will occur this growing season. The damaged plants will recover and grow normally.

However expect to see them again next spring beginning in late May.
